ASTRIAAL Completes Work On New Album
October 29, 2009According to MetalObsession.net, Australian black metallers ASTRIAAL have completed work on their long-awaited follow-up to "Renascent Misanthropy" for an early 2010 release. The band is also planning its first live shows in over three years.
Commented the group: "After tracking the as-yet-untitled new album at various studios throughout Australia, ASTRIAAL travelled to Molla Lydstudios [ULVER, ARCTURUS, AURA NOIR, MAYHEM] in Gjerstad, Norway in August to finalise the new album with Knut Magne Valle [ARCTURUS] behind the engineer's desk. The mastering has now also been completed.
"Some six years since the release of the landmark 'Renascent Misanthropy' opus, this new darker chapter promises to be a unique variant to the now saturated dialect of black metal… Nauseatingly cold and haunting in extracts, yet extolled with ASTRIAAL's violent presence throughout… the return is drawing near…"
As a harbinger to the new album, ASTRIAAL's "Renascent Misanthropy" album has been re-released by Brisbane's Obsidian Records with enhanced artwork and a live video track, and is available in Australia once again.
